Better than hamlet. It is a lieu-dit&nbsp;(literally a said-location); a term referring to a small geographical area bearing a traditional name. The name Dunany is that of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.ca\/maps\/place\/Dunany,+Co.+Louth,+Ireland\/@53.8446556,-6.5310978,10.75z\/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x48672df2da303fad:0x2600c7a819baac82\">county in the northern part of Ireland.<\/a> Even if it was never a municipality, &nbsp;Dunany has been on the official road map of the Quebec government since it&#8217;s first edition in 1922.<\/p>\n<p>It is geographically defined by it&#8217;s watershed of approximately 15 square kilometres. This map of our wetlands was produced by Ducks Unlimited in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Bassin-versant-2016.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-7410\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Bassin-versant-2016.png\" alt=\"Bassin versant 2016\" width=\"602\" height=\"536\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Bassin-versant-2016.png 745w, https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Bassin-versant-2016-300x267.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Residents of the Dunany Community live around four lakes : Clear, Boyd, Black and Curran. There are altogether 204 properties located in four municipalities: 144 in Wentworth, 23 in Brownsburg-Chatham, 19 in Lachute 19 and 18 in Gore .<\/p>\n<p>About a quarter are permanent residents.
