Have a look at our new and beautiful bridge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/20191218_145137-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11320\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/20191218_145137-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1018\" height=\"546\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/20191218_145137-1.jpg 1018w, https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/20191218_145137-1-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dunany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/20191218_145137-1-768x412.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1018px) 100vw, 1018px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was finally opened on Monday evening December 16 at 7 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Why did it take so long?<\/p>\n<p>Well, as I wrote earlier, this being a heritage bridge, it had to be rebuilt exactly as it was built in 1912. The work was completed around mid-November but an inspection by Public Safety officials showed that the embankment of the road on the South side has been seriously damaged by the floods of\u00a0 last spring and that rock fill was necessary to prevent that part of the road from collapsing. Hence the delay.<\/p>\n<p>Oh! I almost forgot.
