Counting our blessings this Christmas and praying for a peaceful 2019.

Often, when watching the news on TV or reading them on a tablet, a thought comes to mind: how lucky we are to live here. And so much more comfortably than the folks standing in front our church on that  winter day, more than a century ago.

This picture is from a History of Shrewsbury written by Kathleen Morrison. Many Shrewsbury residents moved early to Dunany as did the builders and owners of our house – the Gains –  after having married there in 1936. It is now the vanished village.

Counting our blessings, praying and hoping for a better future for the millions of people suffering around the world seems an appropriate theme for our Christmas Eve services – Family at 4 and Evening at 8.

It is with these thoughts in mind that the directors of your Association wish you all a joyous Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

    Dunany is our special place wherever we are.
    To be here in mind and spirit, wherever we are.
    It offers the peace of mind;
    Time to unwind;
    And just to enjoy being here.
    When we bought, we told our boys, “it is our special place.”
    You are welcome to come and enjoy.
    ” Still it is our special place.”
    Now they have grown and understand.
