Our Artists: a Pride of Dunany. Look at some of their work!

We re a community of less than two hundred households. That it would produce so many artists is quite an achievement!

Here they are: (from left to right in the picture) Annabelle Wood, Barb McCullough, Ginette Masson, Caroline Roy, Maureen Cameron, Nancy Farha, Judy Hammond, Susie Léger, Revilla Sauvé, Angie McLeod.  Absent from the picture:  Cory Berry and Steve Darlington.

The attached Gallery is a sample of the art work shown at the Exhibition. France and I selected a few paintings,  which I photographed,  to show the great  diversity of art work and talent. Hopefully, it delivers the message that this group is very talented.

The Exhibition held on the 22nd and 23rd of August 2019 was a great show that attracted visitors, not only from the Dunany community, but  from all the surrounding municipalities. Local press and TV were also in attendance.

The event was also enhanced by local musicians, Bruce McLeod, Steve Roy and Richard Hadley, that supplied our wonderful background music on the Thursday night. And, as Annabelle Wood said, ” We would be remiss if we did not mention & thank all our behind the scene support whether it was set up & take down muscles, bar tenders, the DCA signage assistance and last but not least our photographer and the marketing assistance of Jacques and France Pigeon “.

The Dunany Studio artist will be busy over the next few months continuing to create & learn. On September 10th, René Dion will be visiting Dunany for a one day course. On September 24, 25 and 26, six studio artists head to Six Foot Bay, just north of Peterborough Ontario for a course from Doug Mays. Then two weeks later a group is in Collingwood for a session with Art Cunanan.

Enjoy the work of our artists!
